Option 1: Android TV / Google TV (Google Play Store)

If you have an Android TV or Google TV device, installation is simple and direct:

Step 1: Enable “Apps from Unknown Sources”

1. From the Firestick home screen, go to Settings (gear icon).
2. Select My Fire TV.
3. Click About.
4. Quickly click on Fire TV Stick 7 times until you see “No need, you are already a developer”.
5. Press the back button. You will now see Developer Options in the menu.

Newer Fire TV models (Fire TV Stick 4K Select — Oct 2025, Fire TV Stick HD — Apr 2026) run Vega OS, which does NOT support sideloading.

To check your OS:

1. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About
2. Look at the operating system version:
   • Fire OS 7 or 8 → You can sideload — proceed with this guide
   • Vega OS → Sideloading is NOT possible

Step 2: Install the Downloader App

1. Return to the Firestick home screen.
2. Click Find (magnifying glass icon) -> Search.
3. Type “Downloader” and search.
4. Select the Downloader app by AFTVnews from the Amazon Store.
5. Click Get or Download and wait for installation.
6. Click Open to launch Downloader.

Step 3: Install Projectivy Launcher

1. In the Downloader app, click the URL/search bar at the top.
2. Enter one of the following options:

By default, Projectivy Launcher will not set itself as the default experience. This means any time you press the Home button, your device will return to the default (ad-filled) launcher.
