The pre-installation decision path

Six checks before you type a single URL

Every tool on this site answers a specific “will this actually work?” question. Together they form the complete pre-installation workflow for Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV devices.

All tools

Every checker, validator, and directory

Six browser-based tools, each solving one specific problem. Filter by category or jump straight into the one you need.

Why these tools exist

Built to save you from the worst part of a Fire TV setup

Typing a long URL with a D-pad is the slowest part of installing anything on a streaming device. These tools exist so you never have to guess whether the source is alive.

No more typing blind

Every check runs in your browser in seconds. If a Kodi repo, Downloader code, or IPTV credential fails the check, you find out before you touch the remote.

Trust, but verify

Downloader codes and community repositories are user-submitted with no editorial review. These tools surface the security signals — HTTPS status, CORS headers, MD5 checksums — so you can decide with data.

Always current

Every directory re-validates its entries on a six-hour cron. The status you see is the status now — not a snapshot from six months ago when a blog post was written.

Frequently asked

Everything you might want to know about the tools

Answers to the most common questions about using the Streaming Device Tools Hub.

What is a Kodi repository validator and why would I use one?
A Kodi repository validator fetches a repository’s addons.xml manifest, verifies its MD5 checksum, and tests whether the stream endpoints actually respond. You use one to confirm a repository is still alive before adding it as a source in Kodi — saving you from typing a URL with a remote and discovering it is dead.
How do I check if my IPTV credentials are working?
Use the IPTV Playlist, M3U & EPG Validator. Paste your M3U playlist URL or enter your Xtream Codes server, username, and password. The tool confirms the credentials authenticate, checks the account status and expiry date, and tests a sample of channels for reachability — all without you typing anything into TiviMate or IPTV Smarters first.
What is a Downloader code and how do I verify it?
A Downloader code is a short numeric shortcut from the AFTVnews URL Shortener that resolves to a full download URL. The Downloader Code Tracker resolves the code’s redirect, checks that the destination server responds, and flags anything insecure or dead before you type the digits into the Downloader app on your Fire TV.
How do I test my Fire TV or Android TV device’s performance?
Open the Storage & Performance Diagnostic in the browser on the device itself (or any device you are considering buying). It runs real benchmarks in your browser — storage I/O via OPFS, CPU via Web Workers, GPU via WebGL, and network speed — and produces a Kodi Readiness Score. No app installation is required.
What does the Stremio Addon Checker actually verify?
The Stremio Addon Checker fetches the addon’s manifest, validates its schema, checks for CORS headers, and tests the actual stream endpoint with a well-known public-domain content ID. It reports whether the addon is Working, Degraded, Rate Limited, or Stream Empty — with a plain-language explanation of each result.
Are these tools free? Do I need to create an account?
All six tools are completely free and require no account, no email address, and no signup. They run entirely in your browser, meaning nothing is installed on your device and no credentials are ever stored on our servers.
Do these tools store the URLs, codes, or credentials I enter?
No. Validation results are computed server-side for the duration of the request and discarded. Nothing you paste into the tools is saved, logged, or shared. The only data retained is the public metadata of directory entries (addon names, repository URLs, Downloader codes) that other visitors have chosen to submit for the community directory.
Which device do these tools support?
Every tool works on any device with a modern browser — Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Android TV, Google TV, Chromecast with Google TV, NVIDIA Shield, Raspberry Pi, mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers. There is nothing to install and nothing device-specific about the checks themselves.
