Update, 12:10pm ET: The price of the 44mm Galaxy Watch Active 2 has gone back up to $199.

Now, in addition to Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 3 being on sale, the sportier Galaxy Watch Active 2 has received a discount. Amazon has the 44mm model of the smartwatch for $180, which is a new all-time low. You can grab the 40mm version for the same sale price, too, but we have seen that one as low as $160 before.

The Watch Active 2 is arguably the best Galaxy watch if you want a device that combines a relatively slim design with lots of activity-tracking features. The 44mm model has a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen and inside are an acceleromter, gyroscope, barometer, heart rate monitor and ambient light sensor. The watch is also water-resistant up to 5ATM and it runs on Samsung’s Exynos 9110 dual-core processor. It’s noticeably less chunky than the Galaxy Watch 3, making it better for those that like slimmer-profile timepieces, and its touch-sensitive bezel gives you an additional way to navigate its Tizen OS.

And Samsung’s wearable operating system is one of the best things about the Watch Active 2. Not only does it have plenty of health-centric features, including automatic workout detection, calorie tracking, movement reminders and sleep monitoring, but it also has handy general-use features like smart home control, music playback and messaging. Spotify subscribers can even download Tizen’s Spotify app and listen to tracks or playlists when they have Bluetooth earbuds paired with the watch.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 earned a score of 85 from us when we first reviewed it and it remains one of our favorite smartwatches today for Android users. The biggest drawback is battery life as the Watch Active 2 lasts about one day before it needs to recharge. But if you’re fine powering up the wearable overnight while you sleep, or taking breaks wearing it during the day, the Watch Active 2 is a good pick if you’re looking for a well-rounded (and relatively affordable) smartwatch.
